Summer Vacation - New Orleans
I LOVE summer! Vacations, pool time, hot, sunny days - did I mention vacations?? My summer work schedule doesn't change much from the rest of the year, but my "mommy schedule" sure does. There's less crazy driving from one activity to the next and more evenings spent relaxing or playing outdoors. One thing I absolutely love about summertime is sharing everyone's travel experiences and getting a few in myself! I thought this summer, it would be fun to share a little bit of

Market Madness
It's that time of year! Furniture and home accessory markets are in full swing and the fresh new products for the upcoming seasons are making their way into the showrooms. Most industries have trade show and conferences throughout the year that allow you to step away from your desk and experience a different side of the business. Interior Design is no exception--home furnishing markets are held year round at locations all across the country. Dallas, LA, Atlanta, High Poin

Gameroom Design Rules
Gamerooms can be one of the most fun, yet challenging, rooms in a home to design. With so much function, making a Gameroom design aesthetically pleasing - WHEW, that can be puzzling for any seasoned designer, not to mention the homeowner! Kids toys, gaming tables, equipment, and storage options can make for an interesting twist. I do love being given a challenge in designing a room, so when a client comes to me with a Gameroom and a perplexed look on their face--I say "bri

Work-Life Balance
So this might be one of my biggest hot buttons and something I am most passionate about sharing - my role as a mom and business owner - and finding the balance between the two. I grew up with wonderful, loving mom, who happened to also be a successful business women. She is, without a doubt, my biggest inspiration and I admire how she was able to effectively balance her career and home life. This exposure in my early years gave me the desire to own my own business and event

TRANQUIL - TRADITIONAL
One of my biggest loves in my career is getting the opportunity to design and complete a home that's beauty can be shared by all! This recent Interior Design project gave me the opportunity to work with an incredibly kind and thankful family to create a tranquil environment with a twist on tradition. With two young children in the home, classic elements had to be taken to the highest function and durability. What a fun challenge--one I deal with everyday in my own home. As

Shagreen - It's Back!
Shagreen is back and we LOVE it! As a designer and retail store owner, I am always searching for the newest product introductions and unique items to offer our clientele. This task is easy to accomplish in custom furniture but accessories and artwork have to be more sought after to find lines that aren't being carried by everyone else. In recent years the re-introduction of Faux Shagreen has made a real presence in the design industry. The durability and functionality of

KMI Inspired Guest Suite
As promised, the home tour continues. I thought it would be fun to share one of the more whimsical rooms in our home with you. The Guest Bedroom was inspired by my friendship and professional relationship with Kathryn M. Ireland (of Bravo's Million Dollar Decorators). I met Kathryn, by chance, at a charity event in Fort Worth in 2012. She has an absolutely magnetic personality and long story short-we hit it off immediately. Before I knew it, I was headed to a Design Retr
