KMI Inspired Guest Suite
As promised, the home tour continues. I thought it would be fun to share one of the more whimsical rooms in our home with you. The Guest Bedroom was inspired by my friendship and professional relationship with Kathryn M. Ireland (of Bravo's Million Dollar Decorators). I met Kathryn, by chance, at a charity event in Fort Worth in 2012. She has an absolutely magnetic personality and long story short-we hit it off immediately. Before I knew it, I was headed to a Design Retreat at Kathryn's home in the South of France--TRIP OF A LIFETIME! I'll share that trip with you another day, but it was the start of a wonderful friendship.
Kathryn is known for her Bohemian, casual design and lifestyle and I love eclectic touches in a home-so I decided to transform this bedroom into a Bohemian haven for our guests. The fabrics were pulled from her Mexico Meets Morocco collection, for their bright colors and bold patterns. I wanted a room that was lively and energetic, and that is just what I got!
No Guest Bedroom would be complete; however, without a few personal touches. Art canvas' created by our family adorn the hand painted desk and vintage saris and pillows dress the bed.
If you have a desire to create a new oasis in your very own Guest Bedroom, pull inspiration from past destinations you love to visit or build around a family heirloom. Take your guests to on an adventure through your favorite memories when they come for a "getaway"! I'm off to create another destination design-until next time....
