Curb Appeal
I'm going to talk about something today that I have yet to focus on in any past blogs, but it is an integral part of any design project. The exterior of your home is the first impression that is given to your visitors and guests. The front elevation, color scheme, design accents and landscaping sets the tone for what you are about to encounter in the interior spaces. Although I will never claim to be an expert on landscape design, I have worked in conjunction with many a landscape architect to create the perfect transition from curb to foyer. Variation of height, color and texture give softness to an exterior elevation that would otherwise be cold and lifeless. Whether working on a renovation or new construction project, we are often asked for design assistance on the exterior plan. Trim color, garage door style and color, shingle selection, architectural accents, lighting and window and door design and color are just a few of the elements that encompass the overall exterior design plan. So feast your eyes on some recent before and after front elevation changes that range from small aesthetic additions to full overhaul designs.
