LIVING ROOM CHIC

I love having the opportunity to share projects that bring us joy and professional gratification! This Chic Living Room, has so many elements of Classic and Modern details that transcend time and make this space relevant, even years after it's completion. The most rewarding project that a designer can work on is one that truely reflects the client's personality and the architecture of the home. This stunning living space was intented, by the builder, to be a formal dining room, but with a fresh coat of paint and creativity--it became the client's favorite space for entertaining and lounging. White and taupe velvets, bold accents of navy and teal, geometric patterns and textures, a multitude of material surfaces, and even the client's own daughter's artwork, make this space a conversation piece for any invited guest. I can't wait to share all of the details that went into creating this timeless Living Room design....

Custom artwork painted by the client's daughter on a summer adventure adorn this wall and create a personal and intimate niche -- and a special topic of conversation to share with friends.

The client's love and expertise in geology was the driving force for the accessory and accent selection. Beautiful agate lollipops, and boxes embellished with geodes are sprinkled throughout the space for a personal touch.

This capiz shell chandelier just might be my favorite detail in the room--but that would be a hard decision to make! The open geometric design, reflects across the room to produce a design feature onto the walls and ceiling.

Sheer panels flank the entrance to the Living Room and soften the heavy millwork gilding the opening. This detail sets apart the room from the Foyer and gives it a distinct quality.

Local artists played a huge role in the final design of this space. The navy blue suede texture accent walls have such depth that you have to feel it for confirmation it is not real suede applied. The combination of teal, navy, gold, silver and aqua in the custom hand painted art canvas became the focal point of the room and the inspiration for the room's color pallette.

How fun are these rich teal leather accent ottoman with a modern angular base.

An extra pop of color and additional seating!

Melding classic design elements with modern accents and details can create a timeless living space and fashion the tastes of even the most discerning client! Happy Wednesday!
