Coastal Bathroom Oasis

I couldn't do justice to this coastal home tour without focusing an entire post on the stunning bathrooms we were able to create for the homeowners. To call them an oasis is simply not doing them enough justice. It would be a tough call to determine which bath suite is my favorite, so I'll let you be the judge. With sweeping views of the ocean front off every living space in the home, the bathroom designs gave us an opportunity to bring the outdoors in and create a true "spa-like sanctuary" for each of the family members and their guests.

The Guest Bathroom/Powder Bath, is quite possibly, the most impressive room in the house. With it's under lit honey onyx countertop, custom agate sconces and ocean-like wall tile detail - can I just say SPECTACULAR! It will be difficult to get guests out of this bathroom, with all it's eye candy. Even the rugs and custom window treatments were coordinated to create an organic feel for guests as they wash their hands in a beautiful onyx vessel sink.

We wanted to create a special haven for the son and daughter of this family when they come home to visit. So each bathroom suite was given a personality to match the adjacent bedrooms. With soothing cool blue and grey tones, the Son's Bath has features of masculinity and sophistication--the marble vanity top and unique shower door hardware are some of my favorite details in this space.

The Daughter's Bathroom exudes elegance and whimsy with its crisp marble tile details and crystal hardware and chandelier. We even added a touch of Mother of Pearl in the mirror. I could get ready in this bathroom every morning!

Ok, so I know you're wondering if I've saved the best for last--you guessed it, the Master Bathroom Suite takes the cake! We pulled out all the stops on this one. Being a long-distance project, we spent many hours on the phone and email with the contractor and tile installer, not to mention the artist that put the finishing touches on this Master Retreat ceiling....

Crystal, marble and mica Oh My! The tile in this shower is a combination of six - you heard me right - six different shapes and textures that make up one quatrefoil design per square foot. The homeowner was very specific in their wants and needs for the Master Bathroom Suite, down to the location of all light and shower controls, and our designs and the team of Dewson Construction delivered. When a project like this comes together in such a way that the homeowner, designer and build team is 100% satisfied with the outcome, you know that each part of that team put in countless hours to get it right- that is what makes me truly happy at the end of the day!
