Destination - Cabo San Lucas

One of the "perks" of my job is destination projects. It allows me to depart from everyday living and designing, reach into another region and culture and create something unique for each client. Our destination projects and collaborations have included Colorado, Los Angeles, New Jersey Shore, The Delaware Coast, Texas Hill Country and France. But this winter, during a cold week in Texas (40 degrees), I had the opportunity to get away to sunny Cabo San Lucas. Each destination project is unique and brings with it it's own challenges and adventures. The Villas at Hacienda Beach Club were my destination for February 2017! One of our dearest clients has asked for our design assistance on a stunning beach front property.

Hacienda Beach Club is a complex of privately owned villas and condos situated within walking distance of the Marina and local restaurants.

I've traveled to Mexico for pleasure many times, but this is the first business trip to this matchless location. And it's a wonder I got as much done as I did. Between the beautiful weather, stunning beach views and the slower pace of the locals--a one hour meeting turned into an afternoon of design work. I can't complain, my working conditions were top notch and the view beats my daily surroundings by a mile--or 1000 miles!

Just beyond these palm tree lined temporary walls,

construction is taking place for the new villas, residences and grounds.

So just a sneak peek at a few of the exquisite materials that will adorn these beach front villas. There is still much to be designed and selected but we are off to a great start. Let the fun begin, Cabo. Hope you are ready for a little Texas influence!

It was a quick trip for these initial selections, but I managed to get just a little relaxation-pool side-and yummy food squeezed into a busy schedule. Until next time Cabo!
