Install Day At Last
Install Day - the most anticipated, stressful and celebrated phase of the project. After months and months of creative collaboration and hard work, it is finally here! I look forward to installation and delivery days because the vision I have had in my own mind and have put to paper (and computer) will now be envisioned by all who have anxiously awaited the final reveal. It takes an entire village to properly execute a seamless home interior design install. I thought it would be fun to let you in behind the scenes, this week, as we prepared and "delivered".
Every install has its own challenges and rewards. With this set-up, we have 4 days to put into place every piece of furniture, rug, pillow, accessory, lamp, window treatments and artwork, all while the client is enjoying some much needed relaxation--on vacation! I love when a client has the opportunity to experience a true reveal like this one. When they arrive back home, they will not only not recognize their own home, it might take them days to absorb all the beauty that surrounds them. HOW FUN! Don't you wish you could go away for a week and return home to a fully refurnished and renovated home. I wish I could say it's been that easy for them - and us. But this home renovation has been over 8 months in the making. Saying this client is ready to enjoy their finished home is an understatement. I'm not going to reveal too many of the details before the home owners have a chance to embrace it, but don't fret- there will be a full Design Reveal to come....
I mentioned the village it takes to pull off these massive installation weeks, so let me introduce some of our amazing team. I have had the opportunity to work along side these talented individuals for over 10 years and I couldn't do it without them. Our mighty window treatment and artwork installer, Roland, tirelessly hangs rods and rings and panels and canvas', and helps us to create the perfect finishing touches in each room of the house. Chris, our master upholsterer never disappoints with his pillow, cushion and furnishing creations. And I must not forget the fearless furniture movers, who place each piece with grace and a careful hand. These are just a few of our "village people" on the job this week. Our entire staff, at The Interior Collection, experiences the rush of install week. Phone calls, last minute drives across town, you name it, they are ready for the challenge!
At the end of the day, or week in this case, design installation is exhilarating and exhausting, but every minute is worth the tired feet. I look forward to sharing the reveal of this eclectic home renovation in the coming weeks. For now, here are just a few sneak peaks of the goodies....
Enjoy and stayed tuned for more!
