Summer is here, the kids are out of school and, oh wait, my work and mom life stay the same--WHAT?? That's right, summer means one thing in our house - how will I keep these boys busy for the next several weeks and keep my sanity at work? I'm really making it sound worse than it is, but summer time in the design world doesn't slow down. Destination projects are in full force! And, I have to admit, I love it!!
Destination projects, although very time consuming and challenging, are an escape from the day-to-day world of interior design. Just as the homeowner acquires a place to "get away", we as designers, get the opportunity to step out of our normal routine and create something truly individual to the location. We are blessed to be embarking on some amazing projects that will take us across the country and even outside of the United States. Cabo, Delaware, Colorado, Utah, Los Angeles, New Jersey, Montana, no destination is too far or out of reach for our designs.
With online design services and options now being offered, long distance projects have been made easier than in the past. Long gone are the days of stacks and stacks of 3" binders - those are quickly being replaced with collaborative client/designer ideabooks thru social media and websites. Emailed photo concept sheets and renderings create ease and efficiency at any distance. Inspirations, shopping excursions, design and architectural consultations, construction site visits and much, much more is in store for the summer of 2017.
So, come away with me for just a little while and escape into the oasis of Destination Design....
